William Leon Plaxco, 80, of Little Rock, Arkansas died Wednesday, March 22, 2023 at the Arkansas Heart Hospital, following a brief illness. Leon was born January 7, 1943 in Clay Township, Missouri to the late Curtis and Daisy (Marshall) Plaxco. His wife, Betty, also preceded him in death, in 2007.All who knew Leon, knew of his passion for story-telling and he was always willing to assist in a time of need. He loved telling stories about his service in law-enforcement as a Deputy Sheriff with Pulaski County; working with the Search and Rescue Dive Team and his service as a prison guard at Wrightsville. He also worked with the Union Pacific Railroad and the Arkansas State Hospital, but really loved his work as an open-road truck driver. Leon was also an Army Veteran and was a Green Beret, serving in that unit before the Vietnam war. He later served in the Reserves. Left to cherish his memory are his children, James Plaxco; Anna Vann and husband, Leon; Curtis Plaxco; grandchildren, Steven, Allison, Chloe, Kathryn and great grandchild, Alexis; his loving sister, Dorothy Howard and his brother, Tom Plaxco. The family will receive visitors on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home from 4:00pm until 6:00pm.
